Alternatives isn't really what you want for swapping between sets of
client libraries. However, given that the mysql client libraries use
specific paths in ld.so.conf.d, the files don't actually conflict.
(But then you're relying on glibc's interpretation order of ld.so.conf.d
if you have both installed.)
