Do you think this is a security risk and if not is it a bad UI decision?

The context was me replying to Rahul, who appeared to think that the 
best way to cause the decision to be reconsidered was to re-open the 
bug. Raising awareness on devel is a perfectly reasonable thing to do, 
but further discussion here is not likely to actually change anything in 
itself.
