I just noticed that
http://status.fedoraproject.org/
uses
irc://irc.freenode.net/fedora-admin
to point to the infractrucutre IRC channel, therefore
irc://irc.freenode.net/fedora-meeting
might be a good alternative that would also allow to link to the
location in fedocal.
