So is MOPAC7 viable for Fedora? it's been dormant since 2006; is there a 
better alternative that you (Susi) can recommend?

Actually, there's something strange going on: Sourceforge advertises 
version 1.11 from 2006, but the Fedora package seems to include version 
1.15 from 2009 which I am not seeing anywhere I looked, compiled by Carl 
Byington. What exactly is version 1.15?
