that don't change the fact that 10 years ago Phoenix (the browser which 
later bacame Firefox), Photoshop, CorelDraw opened at the same time on 
top of a Windows 2000 Server with a domaincontroller was perfecty 
running with a Celeron 466 Mhz and 192 MB RAM

so no, there is no excuse that every piece of software these days starts 
with a ton of ressources
