Orphaning freefem++

Hmm.  I looked at the patches and they don't look _too_ bad.  I guess
the issue is that you have to go in and make the same basic changes
every release.

I would take this because I don't have a whole lot of choice (I have to
keep something building in any case) but I would really like it if I
wasn't the only owner.
