Duh. I missed out a big thing. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SystemTap. 
SystemTap is part of the current Fedora development tree and will be in 
Fedora Core 5. Take a look at it. It rocks!.

hey, even a good unbiased review of these technologies and things like 
Dtrace and LTT can be done as part of my Fedora Journal effort. Mail me
