Hi everybody:

Since the conversation has died down a bit, I went ahead and started 
collecting everybody's comments on the wiki.[0] My idea for that wiki page is 
*just* to collect what people have already said. We should keep the discussion 
on the mailing list or IRC.

If you'd like to help me categorize or re-phrase the points, please go ahead. 
If you wish to remove points, please put them in a "not important" category, 
to help us be clear about options we considered but did not choose. If you 
wish to add points that weren't in the previous email thread, please write to 
the mailing list first.

So far, I've realized a couple of themes have emerged, with no consensus. I'm 
pretty impressed with the level of productive ideas being suggested, which 
means we should have some good energy for building better solutions!
