EPEL upgrading mantis

Hi all,
since EPEL 5 ships an ancient version of mantis, I'd like to align it
to the 1.2 series used in Fedora and make it easier to keep up with
the various security issue fixed upstream.

Since it is not really a drop in replacement for the 1.1.x serie
(admins needs to perform a schema upgrade after installation), is
there a special procedure to follow for this update?
