Botan is a BSD-licensed crypto library written in C++. It provides a
wide variety of basic cryptographic algorithms, X.509 certificates and
CRLs, PKCS \#10 certificate requests, a filter/pipe message processing
system, and a wide variety of other features, all written in portable
C++. The API reference, tutorial, and examples may help impart the
flavor of the library.

Update Information:

Update to botan 1.8.9, the latest release in the stable branch. It contains a
couple of bug fixes as well security related fixes and brings some new encoder
functions.    Details on what's new in this release can be found at
http://botan.randombit.net/news/releases/1_8_9.html    Furthermore, this update
removes ECC, RC5, RC6 and IDEA related modules from the package.
