i see no Problem, you have two choices ;)
Either tell Yuan that you feel not ready yet and want to focus on other
things (bad choice ;))
or
you want to help him out - what i think would be a great idea ;)
I suggest to keep Yuan as the official Mentor for this region for now -
(to build regional Leadership it is good to have a native person) and
let you mentor[1],[2] some new Candidates together - just do your
changes to trac as a mentor [3]. And if you have organized and executed
one or two events by yourself in that region and feel ready to become a
official Mentor, Yuan should suggest you as a official Mentor with a
short summary to FAmSCo.
