Hi,

I accidentally hit the keyboard shortcut for sending prematurely. Sorry!

Please ignore the previous mail and only respond to this one.

Because I was too busy with real-life. As you might know I have just
changed jobs and relocated. I'm very sorry, this caused a temporary
unavailability, but I cannot change it. All I can do is get back to
work now, and even though (I think) I'm quite acitve now again,
catching up turns out harder than expected (and in nearlier FAmSCos).

In fact, before Potty withdrew his nomination, I already had drafted a
mail outlining my concerns, but I did not finish the mail because I
was afraid of a lengthy discussion. Seems I was right.

Ticket #388 [1] is a good example of why it is so catching up is so
hard. The ticket was discussed in at least one meeting, but there
absolutely no information in trac. When you reconfirm your +1, I
wonder where your original +1 was. And obviously I'm not the only one
who has questions, Gabriele also had some and Sirko is even holding
back his vote.

Not really. He called my concerns an "more an insult as an question",
but did not really address them.

@Sirko: No offense implied, no reason to be offended. My concern has
been raised before, it was even mentioned in the bid itself [2].

Please be so kind as to clarify some things:
1. Including you we currently have 4 ambassadors in Cambodia [3]. How
many more contributors do you think you will have to fly in order to
have enough speakers?
2. How many attendees do you expect to need sponsoring? How much would
that be and what budget would it come from? I guess the regional
budgets, right? Who decides who gets money from which bucket? Is there
a clear distinction, say speakers vs, attendees?
3. In the meeting you said airfare was cheap, somewhere between USD 35
and 90 for a return flight. On the other hand the wiki says something
about USD 500 (USD 6000 / 12 people). Where does this big difference
come from?

Agreed, but I think it should be clear that we
* work closely with FAMA, in particular people like jsimon.
* are not revoking anybody's status if they disagree. This would be
the 'inactive ambassadors' discussion all over again and this topic
has been beaten to death before. We had good reasons for deciding the
status quo.

Best regards,
Christoph
