When is Konqueror going to become a real browser ? Why hasn't it matured ?

I don't mean to be antagonistic, but when is Konqueror going to become a
real browser, one that will handle ALL websites, one that does SSL,
etc ?

I've been using Konqueror since 2002 and there are always a number of
websites that it won't handle. I love a lot of things about Konqueror
and I use it as my primary browser, but I am continually right clicking
"Open with..." to reopen pages with Firefox.

Its almost laughable that Konqueror is/has been like this.  If I had to
point to one thing that would make my KDE experience better, it would be
fixing Konqueror so that it worked with all web pages, period. 

Why is has Konqueror been like this ?  Why hasn't Konqueror "matured" in
the last 6 years ?
