Performance degradation after KDE runs for sometime

I way using the nvidia driver and switched to nouveau to test (the one 
currently in updates-testing); impressively enough KDE feels much more 
responsive and (until now) did not notice any performance degradation. 

The only thing I've noticed that performs worse so far is full-screen flash 
video which does not bother me much. If the multiple monitor setup I have at 
home works fine as well I may stick with nouveau in the end :)
