there is NOTHING to select
upgrade does not change the desktop or usersettings

i do not because i have made some hundret upgrades and
we are not on windows where you permanently reinstall
your OS

never needed to reinstall linux and with
dd if=/dev/sda | ssh root at liveos "dd of=/dev/sda bs=16M"
you normally do not need this by switching the hardware
