this is simply the crappy GRUB2
not only that the whole configuration is a cluttered script
mixup virtually nobody understands to deal with, it's the
first time in my life i saw a boot-manager freezing and
nobody is able to repdrocue it predictable to find and
fix the reason and it hits you only if you hardly need
change anything because 99.9% a year you do not touch it
