It is odd, plasma-desktop-5.3.0-5 changelog includes:

* Fri May 08 2015 Rex Dieter <rdieter at fedoraproject.org> 5.3.0-5
- Recommends: kmenuedit

maybe the live compose tools don't yet handle Recommends.  :(
