frozen control bar

is there any way to not need CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE when the stupid 
controlbar is frozen as well the desktop don't react on right-click and 
so no way for a clean logout at all?

in 2 hours 4 times restart my KDE session is simply too much, once 
because every focus change to a different application had 5 seconds 
delay after accept input
