KDE5: Freezes by moving to sftp

oh come on, move 80 tiny files from a sftp folder blocks the control bar 
and half of the desktop for 30 seconds while the files already displayed 
in the target folder

you can move some other windows which are not overlapped at that time

you can try to drag&drop those files to thunderbird in a local folder 
(emal files from a honeypot), that hangs, after whatever time period 
ends the whole desktop flickers aorund making all the actions you 
previously tried to do and in the systray "files moved" confirmation appears

on a 4 x 3.5 GHz machine with 16 GB RAM in a Gigabit-LAN? seriously?
