Here's one about Fedora 9:

I needed to move a module from one modular switch to another, which meant
disconnecting a couple of servers from their ethernet sockets for a couple
of minutes. Their network interfaces never came back. Reason? NetworkManager
never brought the interfaces up again even though the kernel logs showed
"Link up" messages. Solution: switch to the old networking scripts from
initscripts.
