Well, I tried it in an actual package and fontconfig errors on the style lines

Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-senamirmir-washra.conf", line 43:
unknown element "style"
Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/65-senamirmir-washra.conf", line 46:
unknown element "style"

  <alias binding="same">
    <family>Ethiopic WashRa SemiBold</family>
    <style>Bold</style> ⇐ 43
    <accept>
      <family>Ethiopic WashRa</family>
      <style>DemiBold</style> ⇐ 46
    </accept>
  </alias>

Behdad: how is one supposed to alias a specific style in fontconfig?

In the meanwhile I also pushed a tweaked droid package that takes Behdad's
latest advice into account. I'd be surprised if it had any effect on japanese
priority, but who knows.

Someone please test on a CJK system (and report back, detailing the test he
used if it does not work)
