Mapserver now uses Symlinks, although requiring bitstream-vera-fonts instead of
dejavu, as is suggested.

But it still ships 3 text files, that originally came with the Vera fonts,
which is no longer necessary, I'd say.

One of the symlinks is broken:

ln -sf /usr/share/fonts/bitstream-vera/Verabd.ttf VeraBd.ttf

The B in "Verabd" must be capitalized.
