Good luck. I would suggest rolling the patch in comment 35 into the f19 2.4.11
rpm. (this is actually what I am running and why/how the patch was/is tested).
If you insist on patching the older 2.4.10 or 2.4.9, you'll need to look at the
5 commits listed in comment 33.

To test that you have done so correctly, use *both* the test program in comment
10, and the embolden mode in ftview (press "2"), and under both 32-bit and
64-bit. (the pdf backend of cairo checks one thing, the ftview's embolden mode
checks another, and some of the relevant code behaves differently under 32-bit
vs 64-bit mode). 'WenQuanYi Zen Hei' (wqy-zenhei-fonts) seems to be worst
affected font, but you should see improvements with "Droid Sans" and others.
