By using this great feature that is git bisect, I found out that the strange
glyph was introduced in commit 2b6ab63152a3ef80a0e2c45b445cefd1b5463b2d by one
Rahul Bhalerao. In the commit message it says "Bug fix for Lohit Malayalam" but
there is no reference to any bugzilla item. Is it possible to contact this
Rahul Bhalerao and find out why this glyph was added and based on what
attestation?

@Pravin: shouldn't you add [ml_IN] to the title of the bug?
