As long as you stick to one of our templates fontconfig should be easy. I
wouldn't recommend straying from them without checking with knowledgeable
people (ie Behdad) your new fontconfig pattern has no unintended side-effects.

And then if I'm the package reviewer I'll insist you document your new pattern
in fontpackages so other packagers benefit from your experience :p
