Hi folks,

Read to the bottom for my comments. IRC snippet follows from #fedora-mktg:

-----------------
[14:48] <rbergeron> stickster: WIRELESS IS A GO AT ASU, whee, and free
[14:48] <stickster> \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ \o/
[14:48] <rbergeron> and full access
[14:48] <rbergeron> now we just need rooms
[14:48] <rbergeron> lol
[14:48] <stickster> \o> <o/ \o> <o/ \o> <o/ \o> <o/ \o> <o/
[14:49] <stickster> I have less of a bad feeling about rooms than I did about wifi.
[14:49] <stickster> rbergeron: How did you fare with Adam and reserving MemU space?
[14:49] <stickster> That's something we definitely need for Monday, IIRC
[14:49] <stickster> er, Monday 1/31
[14:49] * rbergeron is still working with adam - he is in paperwork hell, and found out he has to take a class (!!) to be able to sign up for a room in the MU, and the next class isn't until AUGUST, so he's trying to find a way to skirt that. I checked online, though, and there are still rooms available.
[14:50] <rbergeron> and i'm almost wondering if we're getting close to the date where we could actually reserve the room ourselves
[14:50] <rbergeron> and then just default back to him reserving it
[14:50] <stickster> rbergeron: Is there a time before which we *can't* do that?
[14:50] * rbergeron wonders if delany would be able to book it... hrmmmm
[14:50] <rbergeron> stickster: by "we" i mean - just Fedora, not being sponsored.
[14:50] <stickster> rbergeron: I think requiring delany to do it may be too nerve-racking.
[14:50] <stickster> (for us.)
[14:50] <rbergeron> There is a date for non-university sponsored groups
[14:50] <stickster> (for me, at least.) :-D
[14:50] <rbergeron> ie - they can only reserve X months in advance.
[14:51] <stickster> rbergeron: Could you check on that date?
[14:51] <rbergeron> In the event that Adam can't skirt the rules
[14:51] <rbergeron> but he seems pretty confident that he could get some signatures to that effect - theyhave 3 requirements to be resigned up (this is his 2nd year, so this is likely why he didn't know)
[14:51] <rbergeron> and he's met the first one - waiting on a faculty signature today or tomorrow for the second requirement
[14:52] <rbergeron> and the third is a class - and the people seemed like they would be willing to waive that
[14:52] <rbergeron> assuming he comes backand takes it
[14:52] <rbergeron> and i have mail in my inbox from hotel lady which i need to tend to
[14:52] <rbergeron> after I go get a sammich
[14:52] * rbergeron is STARVING
[14:52] <stickster> rbergeron: fair enough
[14:53] <rbergeron> stickster: but hotel is still open and she's holding it to be nice (aka, nobody wants to come to arizona so she might as well)
[14:53] <rbergeron> and she and i just need to talk details
------------------

So it looks like wifi is in good shape now, and it won't cost us. Yay!

The remaining critical path items, which we need ASAP so we can
announce and people can start making travel plans:

* Building/space reservations. We're fairly confident that the
Brickyard Artisan Ct. building is going to be well in hand for
Saturday and Sunday. Waiting on Jon Delany to give us the scoop; he
reported in today but is still "working on options." He's aware of
  our tight timeline.

We also need a completely clear status on Memorial Union for Monday
Jan. 31 to proceed. We are waiting to find out if Adam (our ASU LUG
contact) can make that reservation at this time, which is looking
favorable. Robyn will stay on this and give us an update Monday.

* Hotel contract. Rooms are being held at the hotel, but we should
ask for a real, paper (or PDF) contract from the hotel now, which
would undoubtedly help their confidence level too. ;-) Robyn has
email from the hotel contact now, and will be addressing it soonest.
