Comment (by pfrields):

I think my status report above in [https://fedorahosted.org/fudcon-
 planning/ticket/16#comment:6 comment #6] was the problem here. I didn't
fill in enough information for Peter to know that ''we'' the organizers --
not he -- were talking to Sugar Labs about this. That probably made him
think that we expected him to go tin-cupping to Sugar Labs, which was not
 ''at all'' our intention.

Steven has been talking to Sugar Labs and because Peter didn't know that
before he saw the comment, I'm sure it made him think we were brushing him
off to get his funding elsewhere. That would have been a ludicrous thing
to do because Peter has never been funded by SL before.

If I could go back in time and rewrite that comment, it would say
 something like this:

"At the subsidy meeting 9/14/10, we agreed to fund half a hotel room.
Steven Parrish is talking to Sugar Labs about subsidizing an airfare,
which could cover Peter's travel. That's likely to happen, and if it
doesn't we'll cover this out of general Comm-Arch funding. If any of
Peter's plans change, he can note that in this ticket and we'll adapt
 accordingly."

Maybe Peter didn't know about Steven's convo with SL, but I think even if
he didn't, that update would have made the situation much clearer than my
 comment above.
