Please set the "Component" below to the correct event for your request.

 Tell us the following:

 * What do you need covered? (Please estimate the costs in USD: hotel $X,
 travel $Y) hotel $200, travel $780 (approx.)

 * If we cannot provide a full subsidy, will a partial subsidy be helpful?
 (Yes/No?) No

 * If Yes, specify the minimum amount you need covered to facilitate your
 attendance.

 * What will you accomplish by being at FUDCon? (Please be as specific as
possible, since this is the most important factor in granting requests.)

I am a Fedora contributor ( ambassador, packager, developer). I work
as a developer and QA at Transifex (www.transifex.net). I also
contribute to other projects like Askbot, Dorrie, Ankur Bangla, etc.

I, along with, ''Mahay Alam Khan'', will be giving a talk on
'''Localization and how Fedora crowd sources its localization using
Transifex'''. The aim of the talk would be make the attendees understand
the importance of localization and how localization can be done in a cool
way just like Fedora does it.

Even after explaining the need and benefits of localization, there
still remains a big question: "How do I i18n my software?" So, we'd also
be conduct a '''hackfest on i18n and l10n'''. We'll show from the basics
on how to internationalize a software (using examples from C, python ,
PHP, Java, etc.) and then how to l10n the software using Transifex, and
easily repeat this process for every release cycle.

With Mahay's experience in localization and my experience with
building l10n tools, we'll do our best to rock at FUDCON KL 2012.

FUDCON also gives an awesome opportunity to meet fellow contributors
and newbies. It gives us an great platform to share each other's story
with Fedora and FOSS. This helps to inspire others and be inspired.

 * If you are requesting airfare, include complete flight information such
as flight numbers, desired departure and arrival airports, and times. Also
let us know if you have specific time restrictions.
