Yep that is why I have been soliciting opinions from users and upstream.
You're the first to raise concern but I am listening and had hoped
for more feedback/comments.

cabal-install is just a cli so it should not impact the haskell-platform API
but having said that 0.6.4 has not had as wide testing as 0.6.2 but
there are not any known issues AFAIK and I have inspected the diff.

I would really rather avoid the epoch (wish I had not pushed that
update late at night..:-/) but if keeping cabal-0.6,4 is a bad idea
then I am willing to rethink, which is why haskell-platform is in
testing now and not final updates. :)
