There is even one drawback of those many dynamic libraries. If for instance a
newer version of library ghc-lx would require a rebuilt of pandoc or any other
Haskell written program then all those dependencies must be taken care of. 

>From what I observed things like this happened (and perhaps still happen) in
Haskell eco system. Think about the cabal 'dependency hell' which at least I
observed in the past in complex situations when building snap, yesod, pandoc
and other larger programs.
