Don't worry, seven years old cheap computers are still running Windows XP,
and I suppose Fedora is still slimmer than that. :-)
Oh, Windows XP does have various IMs in their CD.

IM and other i18n features are like device drivers, most of them are redundant,
however, the system is unusable if the ones you needs are absent.

Imaging what people will react if only intel, nvidia, and ati video drivers are
kept in fedora.
