Description of problem:
while trying to reinstall xp on a qemu virtual disk, i dscovered that i have no 
keyboard input. restarting qemu with 

-k en-us

gave me back the keyboard. the behaviour reminds me of this bug

however, i don't _know_ if it's libgxim or something else broken here.
