I guess you log in the GNOME desktop with an English locale instead of Chinese
locale so pinyin is not shown by default.
If you run 'ibus-setup' command you can add pinyin in the preloaded engine
list.
After pinyin is added, you can restart ibus-daemon with right clicking on ibus
panel icon and choosing "Restart" menu item, and then the pinyin will be listed
on ibus with empathy.

If you add pinyin using ibus-setup and restart the ibus-daemon, are you able to
see the ibus crash with the new account?
