trying to game yum's algorithm seems like a pretty weak fix to me, but I don't
think there's a really good way to address this issue given the limitations of
how RPM does dependencies :/

does this still need to be a blocker, though? it was accepted as a blocker due
to the large cosmetic impact of the error message; if the error message issue
is gone, this probably isn't a blocker any more. what's the current status
there?
