This still persists on f16. updated steps against comment#8:

1. yum install ibus ibus-anthy imsettings imsettings-xim
3. LIBGXIM_DEBUG=all imsettings-xim --address=unix:abstract=/tmp/imsettings-xim
--replace 2>&1 | tee /tmp/xim.log

Tested with:
java-1.6.0-openjdk-1.6.0.0-60.1.10.4.fc16.x86_64
java-1.6.0-openjdk-devel-1.6.0.0-60.1.10.4.fc16.x86_64
