I tried to reproduce this on Beta but I couldn't. once I clicked the logout
button, KDE pops up the dialog that contain buttons for logout, shutdown and
reboot and counting down to logout. I guess you are missing the information
after the step 4. did it really power off after pressing the log out button on
im-chooser?
