Hello, 

I'm Eric Kerin, and I am yet another of the people that saw Mike
McGrath's email looking for help, and decided to see if I could assist
in any way.

Historical qualifications
  o What other projects?
    Provide assistance on the Linux-cluster mailing list for issues with
the Redhat Cluster Suite.
    Random patches and assistance with other projects (PostgreSQL,
linux-scsi, mozplugger)
    

  o What level and type of computer skills do you have?
    Almost 10 years working with Linux, 6 of which with Linux as my
primary operating system both at work, and at home.  Five years
supporting Linux web and application servers at work.
    I code primarily in Java, C, Perl, and PHP.  (I've had a few brief
touches with Python when bugfixes required it.)  With varying years of
experience for each one (average of 5 or so)
    5+ years experience in SQL, database management, and schema design.
PostgreSQL is the major one that's relevant here, but I'm fairly well
versed in multiple RDBMs.
    2 years Experience with Virtual machines (VMWare based)
    I used GForge and CVS to implement a development tracking system and
process at work to meet regulatory requirements.
    

  o What other skills do you have that might be applicable?
    Currently support 24x7x365 production critical servers in multiple
locations in the world.  So I'm well versed in remote support of
systems.
    I'm experienced in Project management and the proper use of ticket
tracking systems.
    

  o What makes you an excellent match for the project?
    I'm a long time Linux user and promoter, and feel I can use
knowledge I've gained over the years to give something back to the
people working to develop the OS I love.
