Why Python?

Perl is great for your need today.  Perl is not so great for you're third 
level replacement that has to try and read and figure out what the heck 
your "elegant" perl code is actually trying to do and adjust it for some 
change.  Historically it seems to many that python apps remain maintainable 
over time, while perl apps have a tendency to not.

Of course, this is merely the opinion of me and my experiences, and by no 
means the reason why we at large use python.
