Why Python?

Not at all, I didn't do my first hello world app in python until last 
August.  It's just that a lot of our development is done in python and 
we happen to have a lot of development needs right now.  But as long as 
you have core competencies in some of the technologies we're using 
(Apache and Xen both immediately come to mind) you'll do just fine.
