Disclaimer: I've not actually used WordPress or Zikula to do anything
other then testing so below are very quick opinions:

If you're going for a more professional news site I'd think Zikula is what
you're looking for.  It'll have some workflow built in to it.  We're
already in pretty good with the Zikula developers, they seem to care about
what we're up to so that's a plus and you guys will probably functionally
be doing things similar to what the docs team is doing (in terms of
typing, someone editing, someone publishing, etc) so we'll have some joint
knowledge there.
