20:16 < mmcgrath> mchua: ping

20:17 < smooge> wow thats a lot of tickets
20:17 < mmcgrath> smooge: yeah, especially this late in the game.
20:17 < smooge> I read that as Fedora 2012.. was wondering why we were doing Mayan calender DOOOM
20:17 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: ping
20:17 < mmcgrath> ricky: ping
20:18 < ricky> A lot of the websites ones are are tracking that probably shouldn't have been given those milestones
20:18 * mmcgrath wonders where everyoen is.
20:18 < mmcgrath> ricky:
20:18 < mmcgrath> .ticket 1299

20:18 * skvidal is right here
20:18 < skvidal> I'm just ducking out
20:18 < smooge> Fedora 10 server?
20:18 < mmcgrath> ricky: that one's assigned to you, can it be closed?
20:18 < ricky> More specifically it was for a 32 bit one, which I haven't had any success with :-(
20:19 < mmcgrath> k
20:19 < ricky> If you/susmit still want to test that calendar app, then it probably shouldn't be closed yet
20:19 < mmcgrath> will it be done by F12?
20:20 < mmcgrath> ggruener: ping?
20:20 < mmcgrath> SmootherFrOgZ: ping
20:20 < ricky> I can try building on different machines if necessary, so yes, unless the 32 bit issue I ran into applies *everywhere*
20:20 < mmcgrath> ricky: k, lets try
20:21 -!- sijis [n=sijis at adsl-76-202-217-48.dsl.emhril.sbcglobal.net] has joined #fedora-meeting
20:21 < ricky> I believe ibiblio1 was the only place I tried previously
20:21 < mmcgrath> ricky: do you know anyone that can work on
20:21 < mmcgrath> .ticket 1227
20:21 < zodbot> mmcgrath: #1227 (Hosting footer) - Fedora Infrastructure - Trac - https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/1227
20:21 < mmcgrath> ?

20:23 < mmcgrath> Oxf13: ping
20:23 < mmcgrath> mdomsch: yeah that one probably will end up at F13 final.
20:23 < mdomsch> most of those others aren't required for F12
20:24 < mmcgrath> Ok, so this is going nowhere fast. I'm going to move on in the meeting and continue this on list
20:24 < mmcgrath> anyone have any issues with that?
20:24 < mdomsch> +1
20:24 < smooge> +1
20:24 < mmcgrath> alllrighty
20:25 < mmcgrath> #topic New Apps Testing "matrix"
20:25 -!- zodbot changed the topic of #fedora-meeting to: New Apps Testing "matrix"
20:25 < mmcgrath> so one thing we've been laxed on is having a good way of testing applications that get deployed.
20:25 < mmcgrath> this is both a technical hurdle and a policy one.
20:25 < mmcgrath> So I've been putting together some scripts with pythoh mechanize.
20:25 < mmcgrath> .tiny http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/fedora-infrastructure.git/?p=fedora-infrastructure.git;a=tree;f=scripts/site-tests;h=148a785193f868a280d27b61adea7af2bcb61c85;hb=HEAD
20:25 < zodbot> mmcgrath: http://tinyurl.com/yeocsvz
20:26 < ggruener> mmcrath:pong
20:26 < ggruener> sorry im currently at work
20:26 < mmcgrath> ggruener: hey, I was wondering the status of ticket 1549 but we're going to take it to the list anyway :)
20:26 < mmcgrath> So I've created a small testing script for mirrormanger and FAS.
20:26 * mdomsch bows
20:26 < mmcgrath> my hope is that these will continue to evolve over time and get used every time we do an update, etc, etc.
20:26 < mmcgrath> any time we miss something, it gets added to the script. We won't miss it again.
20:27 < mmcgrath> it's actually not terribly difficult to use. The python code is messy because it's very 'step 1, step 2, step 3'
20:27 < mmcgrath> but it's pretty easy to see what's going on there.
20:27 < mmcgrath> also I'm trying to do a good job of incorperating not just 'does it work or 500' but also including baseline performance data for comparison.
20:28 < mmcgrath> Anyone have any questions or comments on those?
20:29 < mmcgrath> 'mmm kay
20:29 < mmcgrath> #topic Cumulus!
20:29 -!- zodbot changed the topic of #fedora-meeting to: Cumulus!
20:29 < mmcgrath> So the Fedora cloud stuff (code named cumulus) sort of went live(ish) this week.
20:29 < mmcgrath> we've got people
20:29 < mmcgrath> they have guests.
20:29 < mmcgrath> they're using them, and AFAIK, they're still being used.
20:29 < mmcgrath> ianweller: how's your guest been?
20:30 < Jeff_S> mmcgrath: where can I read more about cumulus?
20:31 < mmcgrath> Jeff_S: this is about all we have documented atm - http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/FedoraCloud
20:31 -!- GeroldKa [n=GeroldKa at fedora/geroldka] has joined #fedora-meeting
20:31 < mmcgrath> unfortunately the web interface is just not general public ready at this time.
20:31 < Jeff_S> thanks
20:31 < mmcgrath> still buggy and not really useful without root on the server for troubleshooting.
20:32 < mmcgrath> but still, people have their guests :)
20:32 < mmcgrath> Anyone have any questions on that?
20:32 < mmcgrath> Jeff_S: also the SOP - http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_Cloud_Infrastructure_SOP
20:33 -!- tibbs [n=tibbs at fedora/tibbs] has quit "Konversation terminated!"
20:33 < mmcgrath> Allrighty
20:33 < mmcgrath> #topic Open Floor
20:33 -!- zodbot changed the topic of #fedora-meeting to: Open Floor
20:33 < mmcgrath> I'm opening the floor
20:33 < mmcgrath> does anyone have anything they'd like to discuss?
20:33 < smooge> was thinking of using his cloud for cracking DES passwords
20:33 < mmcgrath> Any new people around that'd like to say hi?
20:33 < smooge> not really
20:33 < smooge> hi to the new people
20:33 < ggruener> mmcgrath: about the ticket 1549 I am still thinking how can I create this test that i avoid to test only cvs
20:33 < abadger1999> Anyone know if we have electionscoming up?
20:33 < leemwilliams> yep, I'm new thought I'd stop by say hello see how things work etc.
20:33 < mmcgrath> ggruener: if it won't be done by F12 please move it to F13 :)
20:33 < Jeff_S> I'm not new, but I don't usually watch these meetings... so, "hi"
20:33 < Ccielogs> well not technical but I would like to say "hi" and eventually introduce myself :)
20:33 < mmcgrath> stickster: do you know?
20:33 < mmcgrath> leemwilliams: helo
20:34 < mmcgrath> Ccielogs: hello!
20:34 < mmcgrath> leemwilliams: I see you've sent your intro
20:34 < mmcgrath> Ccielogs: have you sent yours?
20:34 < abadger1999> Grretings new people. The meeting is only part of the fun :-)
20:34 < Ccielogs> yup in the ML as Daniele
20:35 < mdomsch> abadger1999, elections need to be just after Thanksgiving
20:35 < mdomsch> so, yes, but "not quite yet"
20:35 < mdomsch> abadger1999, you want to run them this time? :-)
20:35 < mdomsch> or inode0 ?
20:35 < mmcgrath> Ccielogs: ah, welcome!
20:35 < Ccielogs> <mmcgrath> ccielogs is my FAS username and what usually I use in here
20:35 < abadger1999> mdomsch: heh I just want to make sure we close the CSRF ticket by then:
20:35 < leemwilliams> yep, I did see the reply but I'm not so sure on what I want to work on for you guys ;) I do like the dev stuff and that's where my skill set is
20:35 < mmcgrath> Ccielogs: sure
20:35 < abadger1999> .ticket 992
20:35 < zodbot> abadger1999: #992 (CSRF) - Fedora Infrastructure - Trac - https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/992
20:35 < abadger1999> Elections is the only app left to do.
20:36 < smooge> oh open floor item: PHX1 -> PHX2 move
20:36 < mdomsch> smooge, yes please
20:36 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: think it'll be done by F12?
20:36 < abadger1999> mmcgrath: It could be -- the code is written we just have to deploy
20:36 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: <nod>
20:36 < mmcgrath> abadger1999: anything else on that? if not we'll talk about the move.
20:36 < Ccielogs> mmcgrath: thanks :) I even applied to the sysadmin group and I'll wait for someone giving me a chance to prove useful to the community :)
20:37 < mmcgrath> Ccielogs: I'll approve you now
20:37 < abadger1999> nope, go on to the move.
20:37 < mmcgrath> leemwilliams: have you applied / been approved?
20:37 < Ccielogs> mmcgrath: thanks a lot!
20:37 < leemwilliams> not applied, I'll apply to the dev group most likely.
20:37 < mmcgrath> leemwilliams: k, let me know when you do, I'll approve.
20:37 < leemwilliams> mmcgrath, cheers
20:38 < mmcgrath> Ok, the move
20:38 < smooge> ok moving right along footloose and fancy free.
20:38 < mmcgrath> I've not really heard much since last week.
20:38 < mmcgrath> my meeting with Eric this week got cancelled.
20:38 < mmcgrath> I've got some servers on order. not sure when they'll be in yet
20:38 * mmcgrath follows up and asks about that.
20:38 * mdomsch hears smooge's kermit voice
20:39 < smooge> with my cold at the moment.. thats about right
20:39 < mdomsch> (the room is too young to remember the first Muppet Movie)
20:39 < mmcgrath> Also we may be getting 4 additional servers from another group inside RH that doesn't need them anymore.
20:39 -!- rishi__ [n=rishi at dsl-hkibrasgw2-ff66c300-17.dhcp.inet.fi] has quit No route to host
20:39 < mmcgrath> not sure about the specs or timeline yet.
20:40 < smooge> our main issues will be dealing with any slippage from current release date.
20:40 < mmcgrath> smooge: yeah, that would be uber bad.
20:40 < smooge> So please heavily test the beta when it comes out and rawhide
20:40 < smooge> I would rather not be in PHX during Thanksgiving.. but hey
20:40 < mmcgrath> indeed!
20:40 < mdomsch> F12 and opensuse 11.2 are planned the same week
20:40 -!- mizmo [n=duffy at fedora/mizmo] has quit Remote closed the connection
20:40 < mmcgrath> now that we're frozen I'm sure we can all find time to do one test in the QA test matrix.
20:41 < smooge> mmcgrath, pointer please :)
20:41 -!- mcepl [n=mcepl at 49-117-207-85.strcechy.adsl-llu.static.bluetone.cz] has left #fedora-meeting []
20:41 < sijis> where's that matrix?
20:41 < ggruener> mmcgrath: can you send the URL to the QA test matrix
20:41 < ggruener> i always forget the url:)
20:42 < mmcgrath> This was the F11 QA one
20:42 < mmcgrath> https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Fedora_11_Alpha_Install_Test_Results
20:42 < mmcgrath> they change quite a bit.
20:42 < mmcgrath> You can see A) how it goes and B) we totally need hands and fingers doing these tests.
20:42 < mmcgrath> jlaska: you around?
20:42 < sijis> mmcgrath: thanks.
20:43 < jlaska> mmcgrath: sure am, what's up?
20:43 < mmcgrath> I'll find out from the QA team what the plan is this time around and send it to the... oh there he is now.
20:43 < mmcgrath> jlaska: hey do you know what the F12 beta version of this is - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Fedora_11_Alpha_Install_Test_Results ?
20:43 < mmcgrath> or where it's going to be?
20:43 < jlaska> the official beta release candidate version isn't live yet
20:44 < jlaska> but ... we have the beta test compose page still active ...
20:44 < a-k> There's https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Fedora_12_Alpha_TC_Install_Test_Results
20:44 < jlaska> https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Results:Fedora_12_Beta_TC_Install
20:44 < mmcgrath> jlaska: thanks, just prepping some of the Infrastructure people what to expect and where they can find it :)
20:44 < jlaska> we have a beta matrix up ... but won't start the ball on that until the RC hits
20:44 < jlaska> mmcgrath: much appreciated thanks!
20:45 < jlaska> mmcgrath: lili is interested in ways to improve this manual process in the short-term. As always, ideas and suggestions are welcome+encouraged :)
20:45 < mmcgrath> jlaska: <nod> sounds good.
20:45 -!- sharkcz [n=dan at plz1-v-4-17.static.adsl.vol.cz] has quit "Ukončuji"
20:45 < mmcgrath> anyone have any other questions?
20:46 < leemwilliams> yep
20:46 < leemwilliams> are there specific test environements or is it best to setup our own shop?
20:46 < mmcgrath> always best to setup your own if you can, but we do have publictest servers available
20:47 -!- thekad [n=thekad at 64-71-7-198.static.wiline.com] has joined #fedora-meeting
20:47 < leemwilliams> would you be happy with a virtualised test env? just getting F11 up to how I need it :)
20:47 < mmcgrath> yep, most of our stuff is virtualized
20:47 < leemwilliams> cool
20:48 < Ccielogs> great
20:48 < mmcgrath> Anyone have anything else?
20:48 * leemwilliams is a recent windows convert
20:49 < mmcgrath> leemwilliams: welcome :)
20:49 < mmcgrath> If no one has anything else we'll close in 30
