19:05:41 <nirik> I think the only way we are going to do better is some more hands on mentoring... ie, try and assign people tickets and such.

19:11:50 <nirik> so, our new machine plans are moving forward. we had an outage yesterday to replace db02 (rhel5) with db01 (rhel6) and bastion01 with bastion03
19:12:09 <nirik> there is some weirdness I was not aware of around the bastion machines.
19:12:22 <nirik> I am going to look at writing it up and seeing if we can make it less... anoying.

19:13:01 <nirik> * we don't control reverse dns, so they will say bastion01/02 until we ask them to be changed.

19:13:37 <nirik> * changing vpn over needs the openvpn configs to properly reflect the machines available, which it wasn't.
19:14:18 <nirik> so, anyhow, I am going to write up some of this and ask for ideas to make it more bullet proof.
19:14:47 <nirik> at some point we will replace bastion02 with 04...
19:15:07 <nirik> and smooge has been busy with stg boxes.
