You need the *jpackage-generic* repository also. This is likely your
problem. This is the repository that contains nearly all of the
available packages.

You can even check the jpackage.org website directly and see that
tomcat4 (and even tomcat3) is there. The website may give you a better
idea of what is available to download, but yum would work as well, and
you should definitely try to use yum for the actual install.

I think that once you get the rpm(s) installed you will really prefer
that way. There is a small learning curve when moving to rpms, but a
little patience is all it takes.

Keep in mind that there's a few tomcat4 rpm packages. You might want
tomcat4-webpps for testing, for example.
