I fixed the build problems, so you are able to rebuild pdftk now (I 
rebuilt it in Rawhide last week).  That bug is a suggestion that pdftk 
should use the system iText, for ease of maintenance.  The work to allow 
this needs to be done upstream though, since pdftk bundles a version of 
iText with many local modifications.  I sent mail to pdftk's maintainer 
about this (I CC'd you on the note) but I haven't heard back from him yet.

Anyway, for now pdftk is buildable in Rawhide.
