Well, if you're not ready to spend a huge amount of time and maintaining like a hundred packages in
EPEL-6 there is no point in trying. I don't want to discourage you, I'm just giving you a realistic estimate about
what maintaining maven means.
To reply to your question feel free to request a branch but I can hardly find time for it so you're on your own.
