Odd behaviour of Dolphin with pendrives

I don't use kickoff and the notifier didn't pop up a window. 
Configuration difference?

Agreed.

Yeah. KDE3 had just a tiny green arrow overlayed on the icon. 
This is an improvement, but not the best it could be.
