So if Fedora uses xorg-x11-drv-synaptics and its stable and good, what
is the problem with ksynaptics and gsynaptics ?  Are they both using
libsynaptics and its broken ?

It looks very straightforward to write a GUI that interfaces with
synclient.  As a matter of fact, I've got it started and working from
the command line. 

Should I continue ?
