Fedora 14α not compositing

I just had a look at kwinrc and noticed a curious line in the compositing section, line 
24, for which there is no corresponding toggle on the advanced page of the desktop 
effects section of systemsettings.

Line 24 read:

OpenGLIsUnsafe=true

I edited it to read 'false', logged out and back in, and now I have compositing. I have 
all of the effects showing in the 'all effects' tab, etc. So far, so good.

I wonder why it was set to 'true' in the first place and which program did it.
