User disk mounting

For some reason I'm not seeing some replies on gmane, so here is a separate 
email to my original.

The partitions shown in dolphin are not in fstab, so there is no user option 
for mounting.

I can't mount the partitions using mount from the command line:
mount: only root can do that

They are also clearly marked as not removable:
xx:~:$ cat /sys/block/sdb/removable
0
