Wow, thanks guys, looks like you have it all figured out already, has anyone 
filed a bug? or should I do the honours.

https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com , is that right?

Oh btw, I'm using nvidia, with rpmfusion drivers, but I am also using Qt 4.8 
beta.
